ST. GEORGE- Artists of all types are being sought for the upcoming Star Search Talent Show, which is part of the upcoming 4th of July celebration.

According to a press release issued by the City of St. George, auditions will be held June 23 from 4-6 p.m. at the St. George Recreation Center. Those interested can register on this link.

“We know there are a lot of talented people at St. George who are eager to show off their skills,” St. George Races recreation supervisor Aaron Metler said in the statement. “Thanks to our generous sponsor, State Bank of Southern Utah, we will once again be providing exceptional packages to our winners. We hope everyone will join us in celebrating our nation’s birthday and sharing the freedom to reconnect.

The Star Search Talent Show brings a wide array of performance talent to the stage, including singers, dancers, comedians, songwriters, magicians and more. Each act must be less than four minutes long, and performers must bring their own instruments and digital devices that serve their performance.

The top five finalists in each category qualify for the talent show and will be notified by June 27. The show will begin in the historic town square on the main stage at 10:30 a.m. on July 4, as part of the city’s 4th of July. Party.

Prize sets will be awarded to the top three finishers in each of three age categories (10 and under, 11-17 and 18 and over), as judged by a panel of community leaders. Applicants must pre-register to audition for a spot on the performance schedule (no exceptions) and pay a $5 fee upon registration.

4th of July events commemorate America’s birthday and include the Uncle Sam 4K Race, Parade, Games, Hot Dog Eating Contest, Diaper Dash, and tons of food and family fun.
