Merry on Main Talent Show brings money and fame

ATascosa County has hosted some of the biggest stars in the country. George Strait was born in Poteet. Willie Nelson worked at KBOP radio. Jerry DeLeon is currently on the country charts. Award-winning fan favorites David Lee Garza and Poteet native Los Musicales. Who will be the next star of this community at the Merry on Main Talent Show held as part of the two-day Christmas Festival?

If you are an aspiring artist between the ages of 5 and 100, please take part in the Merry on Main Talent show taking place at Pleasanton River Park on Friday, December 3rd. There are cash prizes and the chance to grab your claim to fame on the big stage.

It’s so easy to get in. Just get someone to film you doing your special skill and email it to enterainment@merryonmain.org by November 22. If you miss the video deadline, open auditions are scheduled for Wednesday, November 24 at the Pleasanton Civic Center. This year, to ensure everyone has a chance to win cash prizes, another youth category has been added. Age groups are 5-10, 11-17 and 18+. Merry on Main is looking for all types of talent – ​​singing, dancing and acting. The top seven contestants chosen from the video/open auditions in each age group will perform at the Merry on Main Talent Show. Prizes per age group will be 1st place $300, 2nd place $200 and 3rd place $100.

Plus, in addition to the cash prize, the 18+ group winner will get a chance to perform at the “Merrier on Main” concert and street dance in downtown Pleasanton with David Lee Garza on December 4th.

The talent show will be hosted by the one and only Cleto Rodriguez! Showcase your talent and submit your one-minute video to entertainment@merryonmain.org for consideration. Video must include name, age, performance category (voice, comedy, instrumental, dance, etc.)

The Merry on Main committee would like to thank Cuevas and Country Girl Designs for also providing the prize money for the adult and teen group and John Mayse of JM Connected for providing the funds for the 5-10 year olds.
