Talent management platform True buys Hobbs & Towne, a climate tech executive search firm

True, a global talent management products and services platform, today announced its acquisition of Hobbs & Towne Inc., an executive search firm serving the climate technology and sustainability industries.

The transaction closed on December 3; terms were not disclosed. Hobbs & Towne will operate as True’s new climate technology practice powered by HTI, but will eventually be known as the climate technology practice within True Search. Hobbs & Towne has over 30 recruiters and employees working in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, Philadelphia and London. All join True, and Hobbs & Towne CEOs become Climate Technology Practice Leaders for True Search.

Founded in 1997, Hobbs & Towne specializes in greening all industries with a focus on energy, mobility, food, agriculture and water. He has worked with over 600 companies, including climate intelligence company Cervest; plant-based meat substitute company Impossible Foods; and Proterra, a maker of electric vehicle technologies.
