CT Group holds Punjab Talent Show in Shahpur : The Tribune India

Jalandhar: It was a day full of talent in which 77 shortlisted participants performed for the semi-final of Punjab Got Talent, a talent show organized by CT Group of Institutions at its Shahpur campus. In the first round of the event, 148 participants across India participated by sending in their talent videos. Of these, 77 were shortlisted for the semi-finals in which various performances of group and solo dancing, group and solo singing, shayari, mimicry, etc. have been executed. The participants came from different places like Gurugram, Pathankot, Bathinda, Nakodar, Jalandhar, Kapurthala and Ludhiana with participation in Dubai bhangra. These candidates were judged by the members of the jury, namely Amandeep Singh from Bhangra Crew Dubai; Paramjit Singh, a renowned performer of Bhangra; Pooja, music teacher and Amit Sharma, theater artist. These 40 finalists include names like The Feel Masters Singing Group, Sanjh Dance Group, Singer Jatinder Singh and Singer Rishab Syal etc.

Meeting of graduates held

An alumni meeting was organized for teachers working in various schools by the Doaba College Alumni Association, attended by about 60 principals and teachers from various educational institutions. The program began with the lighting of the lamp of knowledge. Chief Guest Harish Gupta, Member of Doaba College, Management Committee and Guest of Honour, Prof. MC Sidhu, Department of Botany, Panjab University, Chandigarh graced the occasion with their esteemed presence. The guests were welcomed with saplings by Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Dr. Avinash Bawa, Organizing Secretary, and Dr. Suresh Mago, Co-Organizing Secretary of the Doaba College Alumni Association. In his welcome address, Dr. Avinash Bawa introduced many dignitaries who studied at the college. A website for Doaba College alumni, designed by Rajiv Rai, Founder and Managing Director AR International Holdings Ltd, UK, has been launched by the Principal of Doaba College.

Government Jobs Awareness Webinar

PCM SD College for Women, in association with SSB Institute, Jalandhar, held a webinar on “Government Jobs Awareness 2022-23”. During the webinar, Rupali Jedhe from SSB Institute was the speaker and she enlightened the students on government job vacancies in various sectors like Banking, Insurance, Railways, SSC, UPSC, etc. . She also informed the students of the scheme of these exams and how to prepare for them. She also mentioned the various perks and benefits associated with government jobs while advocating for jobs over government and private jobs. The students participated zealously, asking questions when needed and having their doubts cleared up by the speaker.

SPSS Basics Workshop

The Department of Business Management of the DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology held a workshop on “Basics of SPSS”. SPSS is one of the most popular software used by researchers. A basic knowledge of SPSS is essential for all users before proceeding with the survey and data analysis. Dr. Ashwani Panesar, Assistant Professor, Mittal School of Business, and Dr. Maninder Singh, Assistant Professor, LPU, led a workshop on the basics of SPSS and taught students the application of different techniques. Dr. Maninder Singh provided the knowledge of different techniques on SPSS such as correlation, regression, PLS, reliability and validity test. Over 300 DAVIET students have made the most of this workshop.

World Pi Day celebrated

World Pi Day was celebrated by the Mathematics Department of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala. On this occasion, the Department of Mathematics organized a quiz competition on general mathematics for students from different streams. The purpose of this event is to publicize interesting facts in mathematics. Thirty students participated in this quiz contest. Riya from BCA-6th semester got the first position, Manpreet Kaur from BCA-6th semester got the second position and Ramandeep Kaur from MSc IT-2nd semester got the third position. Principal Dr. Archna Garg commended the students for their active participation in this event.

University positions

DIPS College (Co Educational) Dhilwan obtained an excellent result in the second year B.Com exam organized by GNDU. Giving information, the college coordinator, Harpreet Kaur, said that Harjot Kaur got the first position in the college by getting 86.2% marks in the exam. Sandeep Kaur got the second position with 85.4% marks, Rajveer Kaur got the third position with 82% marks and Lovepreet Kaur got the fourth position with 80% marks. All college students also passed the first division exam and got good grades. DIPS Chain MD Tarwinder Singh, CEO Monica Mandotra and College Coordinator Harpreet Kaur congratulated all the students for the good results motivating them to get the same grades in the next upcoming exam.

Students get jobs

A placement campaign was conducted on the campus of Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women by Bharti Consultants. This drive was organized with the aim of placing outgoing students from all sectors in the final year. The company is based in Jalandhar with its head office in Noida. Terminal 12 students from all streams participated at full capacity and 24 students were placed in this company. They would be paid Rs. 10,000 per month for three months to work as interns. Principal Dr Navjot commends the efforts of Placement Officers Dr Raman Preet Kohli (Head, PG Department of Computer Science & IT), Jaswinder Kaur (Head, PG Department of Commerce) and Anil Gangta (Deputy Director, Training & Development, Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women).
