Harvest Fest Talent Show is Saturday | Community

Talent from all kinds of people of all ages will flood the main stage around 9 a.m. Saturday at Needville Harvest Fest, 3001 Violet St.

Angie Middlebrooks, who is in charge of the Talent Show, said things will be a little different this time around compared to years past.

“We were unable to modify the application form, with old dates and other information, on the website, so I told people to just use it to provide their name and contact details,” he said. she declared.

Doors will open at 7am on Saturday and there is no fee to enter the festival this year, so wristbands used for talent show contestants in the past are not required.

The cost of admission to the Talent Show is $5 per person.

Several artists have already dropped off their entry forms and fees at Middlebrooks office, RE/MAX Opportunities, and anyone interested in participating can continue to do so until 5 p.m. Thursday. The address is 3026 School St. in Needville.

Checks should be made payable to Needville Harvest Festival.

Those who cannot meet this deadline can register at 7 a.m. on Saturday, and all Talent Show applicants must check in by 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. at the latest.

First, second and third place trophies will be awarded in three age categories: 0-12, 13-17 and 18+.

“If we have a large number of competitors under the age of 5, we can create a fourth age group on competition day,” Middlebrooks said.

Residents of Needville and surrounding areas are invited to participate. Talent can range from singing to dancing, from twirling to magic, with each act judged by fine arts professionals.

Each performance cannot last more than 5 minutes. Recorded music must be on quality CDs or jump drives which must be labeled with the contestant’s name and selection.

For vocal performances, no lead vocals will be permitted over background music. A PA system and microphones will be provided.

Middlebrooks said the Harvest Festival Committee reserves the right to disqualify entries deemed to be in poor taste.
