Litera acquires Talent Micron Systems, adding talent management capabilities
On Tuesday, legal technology software company Litera announced the acquisition of Micron Systems, which offers talent management software that aims to streamline and automate many hiring and HR processes for law firms and accounting firms. Financial details of the exchange were not disclosed.
The announcement comes just days after Litera also announced the acquisition of business intelligence (BI) provider BigSquare to expand its legal analytics capabilities.
In a press release announcing the acquisition of Micron Systems, Litera CEO Sheryl Hoskins, who joined the company earlier this year, said the move “is an important step in strengthening our ability to meet the needs the most urgent of our customers. The battle to attract and retain top talent is one of the biggest challenges facing businesses today, and Micron Systems simplifies the range of talent management tasks.
In the statement, Micron Systems CEO and President David Wit added that the acquisition will allow the company to grow further. “By expanding the products and the team, Litera will ensure that Micron Systems’ talent management software continues to help companies hire, train and retain top talent as effectively as possible.”
To be sure, Litera isn’t the only legal tech provider looking to expand its reach into HR-related technology, as law firms continue to struggle with a tough job market where candidates are earning record salaries and the retention is more difficult. than years past.
Last week, Mitratech also acquired HR management and tracking platform TalentReef in a bid to expand its HR-related capabilities.
Similar to Mitratech, Litera has had an aggressive M&A track record over the past few years. This year, for example, the company acquired collaboration management company Prosperoware and shipping and fulfillment specialist PS/Ship. Litera has also completed more than a dozen acquisitions since 2019.
