NCBA Anthem Contest, Scholarship and Talent Show Entries

The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association will hold its annual convention in New Orleans February 1-3, 2023. There are several ways to get involved and potentially earn a free trip, including the National Anthem Contest, scholarships beef industry and internships. Plus, the convention is hosting a convention talent roundup this year for those with a unique talent to share!

The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association is looking for a singing star to open the 2023 Cattle Industry Convention & NCBA Trade Show in New Orleans. The 10th Annual NCBA National Anthem Contest, sponsored by Norbrook, is accepting entries for this opportunity through October 15, 2022.

The winner of the contest will present the stars and stripes during the general opening session of the convention as well as at the Friday night NCBA event. The winner will also receive round-trip airfare to New Orleans, a hotel room for three nights, free convention registration, and a pair of boots, jeans, and a shirt from Roper or Stetson.

Any member of the NCBA, American National CattleWomen, Cattlemen’s Beef Board or family member can enter the contest. (However, previous winners of the NCBA National Anthem Contest are not eligible.)

Once a finalist is chosen on October 25, the videos will be posted on the congress website. Voting will then be open to the public from November 1-18, 2022 (one vote per person per day), and the winner will be announced on November 21, 2022.


Beef Industry Scholarships

Up to five members of the beef cattle industry will receive conference scholarships.

In addition, three others will be offered to young beef producers and three to students in the beef industry. Applications are evaluated based on eligibility and the answer to the application questions.

Submissions are accepted now through September 23, 2022, and winners will be announced in November. Scholars will receive free Educational Package registration and discounted accommodation for three nights, February 1-3, 2023.


Convention Talent Roundup

For those with a solo act, band or unique seat, you can apply to showcase your talents at the 2023 convention.

The winners will be able to perform during a session during the convention. Apply here!


Congress internships

If singing isn’t your thing and you want a unique living room experience, NCBA will also seek students for internships. Up to 18 interns will be selected and will be responsible for setting up the indoor arena, attending committee and Cattlemen’s College meetings, posting to social media, and contributing to the NCBA booth.
