Soul APP creates a talent show with Gostar Bustar for Korean students
SHANGHAI, January 6, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — “It was Soulstar who gave me the courage to pursue my dream during this difficult time.” said by Soulstar champion Shin Juyeong. Lately, Soul App social media has launched a Soulstar talent show in collaboration with variety entertainment Gostar Bustar, creating a platform where all university students from South Korea were encouraged to make their unique voices heard and showcase their talents. SOUL has always supported multiculturalism and this creative initiative also enables Korean students to pursue their dreams despite the coronavirus pandemic.
Soulstar was hosted by a family celebrity, offering winners more than 10 million won as a special gift to pursue their dreams. The participants demonstrated their talent as singers, dancers or comedians. More importantly, they took to the stage and pushed the boundaries in pursuit of their burning ambitions. Along the way, these students befriended like-minded peers, applauding and greeting each other warmly.
The champion of the pageant was Shin Juyeong, who was reportedly perfectly happy with her comfort zone and the “perfect” personality that everyone saw her in. However, Shin had actually harbored a desire to break out of the mold for a long time. The arrival of Soulstar gave him confidence and the opportunity to surpass himself. Shin thought to himself, “Those with the courage will eventually shine,” echoing the encouragement that SOUL extends to anyone brave enough to pursue their dreams.
In his Viewer’s Choice Award acceptance speech, Yoon Gangnyeong said, “Even the most specialized lifestyle deserves our respect.” Despite his desire to bring joy and warmth to those around him, Yoon found himself chilled by some of his classmates on campus, simply because his particular passion was considered too eccentric – becoming actor. To his surprise, however, he’s met a lot of “mavericks” like him on SOUL. So while Soulstar may have come to an end, Yoon’s journey into comedy has only just begun. Yoon is joined by thousands of ambitious Soulers, or Soul users, who will race alongside him towards their own life goals, whether in the physical or digital world.
The spread of COVID-19 has deprived many young people of the opportunity to realize their ambitions. Once an idol trainee, Kang Seongjae cherished a musical dream and had an exciting career opportunity. Then the virus changed everything. It wasn’t until the launch of Soulstar that he had the chance to return to the stage. Her stellar performance left a deep impression on the judges and the audience, earning her third place. “Maybe this (achievement) will bring more and more attention to my music on YouTube,” he said candidly.
Both Soulstar and SOUL are characterized by young people’s desire to find like-minded friends, break down stereotypes and personal boundaries, show their true selves and express themselves freely. Building on these cornerstones, SOUL continues to dream big, holding firm to its commitment to shaping a relevant social media metaverse for younger generations.
