A talent show-winning theater star who headlined the musical version of Will Ferrell’s Elf is suing for £1.7million after breaking his ankle on the show.
Ben Forster, 40, was playing Will Ferrell’s character Buddy in Elf The Musical when he alleges elves shot him “violently” while he was on a ladder decorating a Christmas tree.
He then fell from an 8ft wheeled ladder at the Lowry Theatre, Salford, Manchester and injured himself in January 2018.
His solicitor, David White, told the High Court he could no longer ‘return to the physical demands of being a top theatrical actor in the West End’.
According to The Sun, Mr Forster claims he was then unable to do things you would normally see in a musical such as dancing, climbing stairs, lifting another actor or acting around a moving set.
But he says he can stand up and sing after breaking his ankle.

In a 2015 production, former Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh starred opposite Ben Forster as Buddy on West End show Elf: The Musical.
Mr Forster won ITV’s Superstar in 2012 and as the winner played Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar.
He also had roles in the Phantom of the Opera and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Mr Forster, played Buddy since the UK premiere in 2014 at Plymouth, but failed to complete another run on Elf when he fell on January 6, 2018.
Elf The Musical (UK) denies any negligence.
The High Court will decide the trial date at a later date.
