The Youth Council hosts an annual talent show

The Simi Valley Youth Council will perform its fourth annual talent show at 7 p.m. Friday, May 20 at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, 3050 Los Angeles Ave.

The show will showcase the talents and skills of local teen and adult artists as they perform on the arts center’s main stage.

The event is a fundraiser to support Youth Council community projects and events throughout the year, including anti-bullying and suicide prevention campaigns and its annual flagship event, the Simi Valley Youth Summit.

Over 15 individual and group acts will be competing, as well as non-competitive shows from the community.

Cash prizes will be awarded in specific categories and a People’s Choice winner will be named. A panel of three judges will help select the winners.

Discounted early-bird tickets, available through May 18, are $6 for students and $12 for adults. After that date, tickets will be $8 for students and $15 for adults. Tickets can be purchased online at tinyurl.com/YCTALENT.

Businesses and individuals interested in supporting the event or donating silent auction items can call Kristin Tignac, Youth Council Coordinator, at (805) 583-6766.
